cocoa beach surf report

Monday: The Ernesto swell is still in the water this morning. We’re seeing mostly waist to chest high waves with occasional bigger sets coming in fairly consistently, though you might need to wait a bit for the right one. The swell direction is ENE at about 11 seconds, with SW winds shifting to the south later in the day. Expect the bigger sets at the better spots.

cocoa beach surf forecast

Tuesday: We could still have a little surf in the water to start the day but size will be on a downward trend as the day goes on, dropping back to normal summer time conditions by the mid-week.

Looking ahead: We are back to knee to lucky thigh for the rest of the week with a little trade winds bump for the weekend as an area of High pressure emerges from the East coast and heads out into the Atlantic.

cocoa beach surf break information

The Cocoa Beach Pier breaks on almost every type of swell! North swells are best in the chest to head high zone. South West winds will are perfect for grooming the sets.

Widely known as the surfing capital of the East Coast, the primary attraction to Cocoa Beach is the weather. With its prime positioning where two climatic zones (sub-tropic and temperate) meet, our weather usually avoids extremes. This unique coastal location attracts wildlife indigenous to both climatic zones, as well as migratory species and it is the primary tourist destination on the Florida Space Coast.

In downtown Cocoa Beach near Minuteman Causeway, an area known as Cottage Row offers a variety of specialty shops set up in charming old Naval housing. Cafes, nightclubs, and fine-dining establishments flank art galleries, bike rentals, and specialized surf shops. With an active nightlife and array of eateries, Cocoa Beach has established itself as an exciting locale among visitors as well as locals. Enjoy live music on the Party Deck at Coconuts On The Beach or the very fine martinis at Heidi’s Jazz Club.

Ron Jon Surf Shop is a destination unto itself as the “World’s Most Famous Surf Shop.” The Cocoa Beach Surf Company surf complex next door is another must see as it includes a hotel, surf school, travel agency, and tour operator. Cocoa Beach is also famous as the location of the “I Dream of Jeannie” television show that aired in the 70s. The Sunday Farmer’s Market and the nature trail at Lori Wilson Park are enjoyable excursions to add to any Cocoa Beach getaway.
